The Oresteia

I have finally finished reading all three plays, which was quite time consuming, to say the least. I was happy to find, however, that the play proved to be very interesting in that it was a literal showcase of timeless characteristics. I believe that it is this quality of timelessness that makes a work great, and The Oresteia is certainly that. Needless to say, I was surprised to see the many parallels between the story in the plays and stories in contemporary American society-let the displacement brainstorming begin!
